The Paris Agreement was created with a goal to limit global warming to well below 2°C, compared to pre-industrial temperatures. To achieve this, governments and organisations have agreed to undertake a rapid reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and allow for a balance between emissions produced and the amount removed from the atmosphere, otherwise known as net zero emissions.
Almost 200 parties were signatories to the Paris Agreement, with many more organisations and businesses also committing themselves to the targets.
In the interest of promoting serious environmental commitments of businesses and allowing consumers and organisations to evaluate potential suppliers, ESI Monitor have created this directory of businesses in the Channel Islands that have made public their commitments to achieve net zero emissions.
We would ask that businesses and consumers favour these organisations that commit to net zero or are on a path to commitments, to drive change and inspire other businesses to do the same.
